HUB TALKS SUNDAY OCTOBER 20TH 2024 @ 2 PM
Presenter: Christopher Labos, MD, MSc – Associate
We are delighted to announce that our Hub Talks presenter for September will be Montreal cardiologist and epidemiologist Dr. Christopher Labos, who will discuss his 2023 book “Does Coffee Cause Cancer? And 8 more myths about the food we eat”. The book is a fascinating and refreshing clarification of food myths, which describes how sloppy science perpetuates misconceptions about food.
This talk promises to be lively and highly informative. There will be opportunities for the audience to ask Dr. Labos any questions they may have on the subject of healthy nutrition and how it affects our well-being, a topic that is so relevant to us all.
We hope you will be able to attend and look forward to welcoming you to HUB TALKS.
BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Labos is a cardiologist who holds a Master’s degree in epidemiology. He is a regular contributor to the Montreal Gazette, CJAD radio, CTV Montreal, and CBC’s Morning Live. He blogs for Medscape and co-hosts an award-winning podcast The Body of Evidence.
By his own description, he spends most of his time doing things that he doesn’t get paid for, like doing research, teaching, and podcasting. Occasionally, he finds time to practice as a cardiologist so he can pay his rent. He realizes that half of his research findings will be disproved in five years: he just doesn’t know which half! To date, no one has recognized him on the street.
