We are incredibly excited to announce our next Chef Creations with the Chef and Co-owner of the Ferme de la Rive Table Champêtre.

Chef Shelley started her culinary career in 1988 by attending the Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. She was enrolled in a 2-year program in Professional Cooking which included a 4-month apprenticeship at a prestigious resort in the Laurentians, Quebec.

After graduating she worked in several different areas of the culinary field, including restaurants, hotels, and cafeterias in Montreal and Ottawa. In 1994 she opened a small coffee/sandwich shop in Ste Anne de Bellevue, Shelley ran the popular Herb’s restaurant for many years before handing it over. She had once heard of a successful chef from Toronto who moved to the country and opened a restaurant that served everything that was produced and grown on the premises. This really intrigued Shelley and she decided that this could be the lifestyle for her as well and she had a need to get back to more refined and fine dining.

During 2005 Shelley purchased a small farm in Rigaud, Quebec. In 2006 she partnered with her now husband, Bruce, and they began to work the land, plant and cultivate 2 acres of organic vegetables, keep hens for eggs, and raise chickens and pigs. In 2012 their application to have a farm-to-table dining room in their century-old farmhouse was accepted. Shelley has been creating delectable dinners ever since. Thoughtfully using products from the farm, vegetables, chicken, pastured pork, preserves, and other locally sourced products.

Wine for this event will be from local Vignoble Souffle de la Vie from Senneville. Sommelier Lucas Vlahakis from the winery will be presenting the 4 wines for the 4 dishes.
