Brian Jackson is a graduate of Oxford University.  He immigrated to Canada in 1968 to assume the post of conductor of the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra at age 24, a post he held until 1972.  A grant from the Canada Council enabled him to study conducting further in Detmold, West Germany.

He has held a number of prestigious conducting positions in Canada. He has composed four musicals and arranged and orchestrated over 60 works for pop concerts.  He was the Music Director of The Royal Canadian Air Farce Symphony shows.

Brian Jackson’s introduction to Hudson was in 1974 as conductor at a number of musical events. He has graced the Hudson Village Theatre stage, accompanying Stephanie Marshall in A Little Music in the Night (2008), A Drop of the Hat (2009), and Spitfire Dance (2014).

After half a century of conducting, Maestro Brian Jackson is stepping back from his position as Principal Pops Conductor of Orchestras to concentrate on chamber music, writing/arranging, and mentoring. Family and travel feature prominently in this semi-retirement.
