“IN CONVERSATION WITH CLINT WARD”

AT HUDSON CREATIVE HUB

SATURDAY JANUARY 20TH 2024 @ 7:30 pm

Clint’s first guests of the New Year at the Hub’s “In conversation with Clint Ward” series will be Brigitte and Robert McKinnon together with Father Roland Demers.

Following an enlightening family trip to Peru over 15 years ago, Brigitte and Robert were inspired to create the Pure Art Foundation, a registered Canadian charity.  The organization is committed to poverty alleviation and the empowerment of marginalized communities in Pucallpa on the outskirts of the Amazon Jungle in Peru.  Their vision is to assist individuals to become active participants in their communities, thereby contributing to their growth, resilience and economic independence. The focus of their work is on education, housing and healthcare. Their work over many years has yielded impressive results.   Each year they organize a trip to the community in Peru with a group of local volunteers, who generously provide their time and energy to the Foundation’s many ongoing projects.

With their delightful Pure Art Boutique in Vaudreuil-Dorion, they connect their customers to unique Fair Trade products from around the world.  Proceeds from the boutique cover the expenses of the Foundation so that 100% of donations can be directed to community initiatives.

Father Roland Demers is a well known and well loved member of our community as the Parish Priest for many years at St-Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Hudson.  As a young priest, Father Demers spent the years 1966 to 1969 in Chile where he developed a great affinity with the people of South America and learned to speak Spanish.  He has worked with the late Gerald Veilleux of Rigaud and has returned many times to that region.

His association with the Pure Art Foundation dates back many years and he still continues to collaborate with Brigitte and Robert as well as with other charitable organizations’ projects in South America.

Listening to this lively conversation between Clint and his guests promises to be fascinating and inspiring. The event is a fundraiser for many projects vital to the wellbeing and future of these populations and we look forward to your presence.
