‘IN CONVERSATION WITH CLINT WARD”  John Lawson

FRIDAY MAY 17th 2024 at 7:30 PM

In celebration of the centenary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) as a distinct military element, Clint is pleased to welcome John Lawson as his distinguished guest.  With his lifelong career in aviation, John’s conversation with Clint is sure to be engaging and informative.

Since its inception in 1924, the RCAF has served Canadians in peace and war. It played a vital role in the Second World War, becoming the fourth-largest Allied air force, and reached its “golden age” in the late 1950s, with dozens of combat squadrons on the front lines of the Cold War. The RCAF is currently part of National  Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces.  It defends and protects Canadian and North American airspace in partnership with the United States.

John Lawson graduated from the Royal Military College in 1961 in engineering and entered the RCAF as a pilot. He served as a flight instructor, fighter pilot and a test pilot and held senior staff and command positions. After 19 years, he left the RCAF as a LCol to pursue a career in aerospace.  He joined Canadair/Bombardier, holding a series of executive positions.  He retired in 2001 as President of the Business Aircraft Division and Worldwide Business Aircraft Sales.
