Join us for an intimate evening with Sultans of String, one of Canada’s most celebrated and boundary-crossing musical groups, presented in a special trio format at the Hudson Creative Hub.
Wednesday, March 25
Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm
Known for their dazzling musicianship and deep sense of musical connection, Sultans of String blend elements of folk, roots, flamenco, and global traditions into performances that are both virtuosic and deeply human. Their music tells stories — of place, of collaboration, and of the power of listening across cultures.
This show features:
Chris McKhool: Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal recipient and multiple award winner Chris McKhool is the driving force behind BILLBOARD-charting Sultans of String. A virtuoso violinist and visionary collaborator, he has performed and recorded with artists ranging from Béla Fleck to The Chieftains, while creating powerful cross-cultural projects with Indigenous artists across Turtle Island.
Kevin Laliberté: Internationally acclaimed guitarist Kevin Laliberté blends flamenco fire, Latin rhythms, jazz sophistication, and pop lyricism into a sound that is both virtuosic and deeply expressive.
Saskia Tomkins: Multi-instrumentalist Saskia Tomkins is a master of violin, viola, cello, and nyckelharpa — and is equally at home in classical, jazz, and Celtic traditions. An award-winning Irish fiddler and sought-after cultural consultant (including for Broadway’s Come From Away), Saskia brings authenticity, depth, and dazzling musicianship to every stage she graces.
This cabaret-style Listening Room concert offers a rare chance to experience the trio up close, in a relaxed setting that invites attention, conversation, and shared experience. Expect an evening that is warm, engaging, and musically rich — equally compelling for longtime fans and those discovering the band for the first time.
This performance is part of the 2026 Listening Room Series at the Hudson Creative Hub, which highlights exceptional artists in intimate, audience-focused settings.
🎬 Companion event: On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Hub will also host a free screening of Walking Through the Fire, Sultans of String’s powerful visual album and documentary project inspired by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s call for greater collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists. The screening offers deeper context into the stories and relationships behind the music and is a meaningful complement to the live concert experience.
