Short bio:  Barry Whatley teaches in the areas of spirituality and theology at Laval University.   As well as his teaching and pastoral roles, he is an international conference speaker in the areas of theology and aesthetics.  His home base is here in Hudson where he and his wife Laurie love to welcome their grown sons and numerous grandkids!

Overview of the evening:

Professor Whatley’s decades-long conviction is that poetry is one of the most important avenues for exploring life and faith.  The Easter story – the heart and central mystery of the Christian faith – has inspired some of the greatest poetry ever penned.  This two-part evening presents first the poetry of the cross and leads naturally into the poetry of the resurrection.  Both classic and more contemporary poems are part of the evening’s offering.
